A ‘Crafted Journey’ needed a new home…
Crafted Journeys started as an offshoot of Indafrica Travel, a specialist travel wholesaler and tour operator for Africa and India owned and operated by Natasha Sinclair.
Overtime Indafrica had become more focused on safaris and active adventures in Africa and India, so it became clear that Natasha’s unique, special interest tours to India needed a new home and “Crafted Journeys” was created.
Then COVID-19 came along…
And we all know what happened! Border closed and so did the chance of international travel for the time being.
We know we will travel again but after a few discussions with some other very passionate Central Otago residents over a glass or two of fine Central Otago wines, Natasha has crafted a new journey to connect you in a new way with her beloved home-region of Central Otago.
Looking to the future…
Natasha hopes to be returning to India in late 2021 for the journey to Assam, Nagaland and the Hornbill Festival (otherwise we will re-schedule for 2022). The plan is also for the ever-popular India: Fabric, Food & Fabulous to run in March 2022 as well as a Wildlife, Culture & Craft tour to Tanzania & Zanzibar in June 2022.
Meet Natasha

Natasha fell in love with India as a child. On her bookshelf was a beautiful copy of Rudyard Kipling’s Jungle Book bound in royal blue leather, with the cover and spine embossed in gold. It is now over 100 years old and she is still enchanted by the exotic stories of India.
Her travels in India are ongoing (and she is not sure they will ever stop) and to date she has journeyed across Northern India, been into the foothills of the Himalayas, blessed in Varanasi and joined the pilgrims in the waters of the Ganges at Haridwar and still thinks that there is nothing quite like enjoying freshly squeezed pineapple juice while relaxing on the backwaters of Kerala.
Natasha, like may New Zealander’s grew up watching the David Attenborough’s documentaries that screened as part of the “Our World” program line up every Sunday on TVOne. Documentaries set in Africa’s bush and rainforests were always a firm favourite and she still pinches herself that she has been able to experience some of nature’s truly wonderful spectacles throughout the continent.
For 13 years Natasha, has been helping travellers experience travel that is unique and meaningful and for the last five this has been at the helm of her own wholesale travel company – Indafrica Travel
Natasha is also an accomplished cook and not surprisingly, Indian food is a specialty. So much so that her family now enjoys recipes she’s picked up on her travels and adapted in her cottage kitchen most days.
From time to time she is coaxed into sharing her knowledge in cooking classes.
